How to Care for Your Nefera Piece
Sterling Silver and Copper are living metals. They change over time. Here is how to work with that — not against it.
01 — Sterling Silver
Sterling Silver Care
Daily wear: Sterling Silver is durable and improves with wear. The oils from your skin keep it polished naturally.
Cleaning: Wipe with a soft, dry polishing cloth after each wear. For deeper cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush — rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
Avoid: Chlorine (pools, cleaning products), perfume sprayed directly on the piece, and prolonged exposure to moisture.
Storage: Keep in the anti-tarnish pouch your piece arrived in, or in a sealed bag between wears. Air exposure causes tarnish — but tarnish polishes off easily.
Tarnish: Completely normal. A polishing cloth removes it in seconds. Do not use silver dips — they strip the patina from Hand-Pierced and textured areas.

To slow the patina:
Keep dry. Store sealed. Remove before showering.

Wear daily. Let skin contact do the work. Enjoy how your piece evolves over months.
To reset the patina:
Use a copper-specific cleaner or a paste of lemon juice and salt. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
02 — Pure Copper
Copper Patina is the Point
Copper is a living metal. It oxidizes when exposed to air and skin contact — developing a natural brown-to-green patina that makes every piece unique over time. This is intentional. It is not a defect.
No two Copper pieces look the same after six months of wear. That character is yours alone.
Daily wear: Copper benefits from contact. The warmth of your skin slows oxidation and develops a richer tone.
Skin sensitivity: Some people experience a temporary green tint on skin from copper — this is harmless. It is a natural reaction and washes off. Our Cold-Forged pieces have a protective finish that minimizes this.
03 — Universal Tips
For Every Nefera Piece
Put it on last.
Apply perfume, sunscreen, and lotions before putting on your jewelry. Let them absorb first.
Take it off first.
Remove before swimming, showering, exercising, or cleaning. Sweat and chlorine accelerate wear.
Store with intention.
